$8.4 Million for Marketing and Trade Policy
With nearly 18 percent of California's crop and livestock commodities sold overseas, the future of California agriculture depends upon maintaining, expanding and improving access to international markets.CDFA created a grant program to assist international and domestic market promotions for California specialty crop commodities. The CIMPA grant program develops new international market promotion programs and expands existing programs. CDFA awarded 34 grants under the CIMPA program. The Competitive grant program functions to develop and enhance domestic market promotion programs. CDFA awarded 11 competitive grants for marketing and trade policy along with one internal grant. Now more than ever, growers' global and domestic competitiveness is key to their survival and continued advancement in the agricultural industry. It is essential that international and domestic markets are developed and expanded for California specialty crop products to maximize growth in the state's economy.
