Education
California kids need to know where their food comes from. Through CDFA's specialty crop grant program, over 22,000 children, kindergarten through high school, attended events that taught them the importance of California agriculture. Nearly 1,100 teachers were able to incorporate agriculture into their math, spelling and science curricula.
$2.5 million for Ag Education
Agriculture is an essential component of California's economy. Increasing awareness of agriculture through education is vital to our society. It is increasingly important to incorporate agricultural topics and information into a broad range of academic areas.

CDFA awarded $2.5 million in agricultural education grants that will strengthen and define the importance of agriculture in the classroom, workplace and daily life. The various agricultural education grant projects will promote agriculture in the classroom, expand agricultural resources, further develop ag curriculum guidelines, and educate the public on important regulatory and policy issues.
